Perennials
Unlike annuals, perennials return year after year, providing a burst of colour throughout spring, summer and autumn and in some cases, they even offer a little bit of winter structure.
Versatile and eco-friendly, they attract a diverse array of pollinators, like hoverflies, butterflies and bees. Once established, perennials require minimal care and are largely pest resistant. As they don't need replanting each year, they can be very cost-effective. With varieties suited to all situations and garden types, perennials are ideal for creating beautiful, sustainable gardens to suit every budget.
Whatever your requirements, we have the right plants in the quantities you need. Whether that is directly from our own home-grown stock or from stock selected out from our trusted growing partners, we offer a vast range of options for every situation.
Our selection just keeps on growing and we welcome suggestions for new introductions. If it’s something you use a lot and we don’t stock it or you would like to but it’s hard to get, we can also grow specific plants to order for your projects.
Our state-of-the-art Young Plants Department was built in 2009 and covers 10,000 sq m.
With perennials that have been under the watchful eyes of our hugely experienced and knowledgeable team since propagation, everything we grow is constantly monitored and nurtured to ensure it meets our standards before being declared ready for sale.
All of the perennials we grow are propagated in-house or sourced in as young plants and nurtured in our Young Plants Department, which is specifically built to offer the ideal environments for rooting, weaning and growing on. We collect material from our own nursery and propagate perennials using a variety of methods. For perennials which prefer to be propagated through micro-propagation, we source plugs from trusted, specialist suppliers.
Propagating as much as we can from our own plants means we are in control of our own production and can confidently offer true to name plants. We also grow many perennials direct from seed, which is a quick and easy way to propagate many of the perennials in our range.
