Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum 'Kilimanjaro' ® (Japanese snowball [Kilimanjaro]) is a member of the Viburnaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterised by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy (very cold winter [-20 to -15ºc]) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe, with many plants grown in containers becoming damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum 'Kilimanjaro' ® can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a north–facing, west–facing, east–facing, or south–facing aspect and an exposed or sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
