Brahea armata (blue fan palm) is a member of the Arecaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of heated glasshouse – warm temperate (5 to 10ºc), and is can be grown outdoors in summer throughout most of the uk while daytime temperatures are high enough to promote growth. .

When fully mature, Brahea armata can reach an ultimate height of Higher than 12 metres and a spread of 4–8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
