Ilex aquifolium (common holly) is a member of the Aquifoliaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
