Hypericum calycinum (rose of Sharon) is a member of the Hypericaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a suckering growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen or semi evergreen foliage.
When fully mature, Hypericum calycinum can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing, south–facing, north–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered, exposed exposure. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full shade, full sun, partial shade position.
