Product description & Growing guide

Corylus colurna (Turkish hazel) is a member of the Betulaceae family. This tree exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterised by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy (very cold winter [-20 to -15ºc]) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe, with many plants grown in containers becoming damaged unless given protection.

When fully mature, Corylus colurna can reach an ultimate height of higher than 12 metres and a spread of wider than 8 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers a north–facing, east–facing, south–facing, or west–facing aspect and an exposed or sheltered position. It thrives best in chalk, clay, loam, or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
