Pleioblastus variegatus (dwarf white-striped bamboo) is a member of the Poaceae family. This bamboos exhibits a suckering, clump forming growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage. It has a hardiness rating of H5 and no significant fragrance.
When fully mature, Pleioblastus variegatus can reach an ultimate height of 0.5–1 metres and a spread of 1–1.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers west–facing,south–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay,loam,sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
