Acer palmatum var. diss. Dis. Vir. Grp (Japanese maple Dissectum Viride Group) is a member of the Sapindaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a bushy growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) and is hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection. It features a flower fragrance.
When fully mature, Acer palmatum var. diss. Dis. Vir. Grp can reach an ultimate height of 1.5-2.5 metres and a spread of 1.5-2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east-facing or south-facing or west-facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in clay or loam soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
