Acer palmatum 'Green Trompenburg' (Japanese maple 'Green Trompenburg') is a member of the Sapindaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a columnar upright growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – very cold winter (-20 to -15ºc) – hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
When fully mature, Acer palmatum 'Green Trompenburg' can reach an ultimate height of 4–8 metres and a spread of 2.5–4 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east–facing, south–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in clay, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun, partial shade position.
