Dasylirion serratifolium (sandpaper sotol) is a member of the Asparagaceae family. This evergreen shrub exhibits a tufted growth habit and is characterized by its evergreen foliage.
When fully mature, Dasylirion serratifolium can reach an ultimate height of 1–1.5 metres and a spread of 0.5–1 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers south–facing, west–facing aspect and sheltered exposure. It thrives best in chalk, loam, sand soil types and should be placed in a full sun position.
