Acer palmatum 'Linearilobum' (Japanese maple 'Linearilobum') is a member of the Sapindaceae family. This deciduous shrub exhibits a spreading branched growth habit and is characterized by its deciduous foliage. It has a hardiness rating of hardy – cold winter (-15 to -10ºc) and is hardy through most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites or central / northerly locations. Many evergreens suffer foliage damage and plants in pots will be at increased risk. It features a fruit fragrance.
When fully mature, Acer palmatum 'Linearilobum' can reach an ultimate height of 2.5–4 metres and a spread of 1.5-2.5 metres. For optimal growth, it prefers east-facing or north-facing or west-facing aspect and sheltered positions. It thrives best in clay or loam or sand soil types and should be placed in full sun or partial shade.
